Llantwit Major is an ancient, secluded, coastal town steeped in history. It has a great deal to offer nature lovers, dog owners, history buffs and seekers of peace alike.
Llantwit Major is the oldest centre of learning in the UK. Along with Stonehenge and Glastonbury, it is one of only three locations, in the UK, where all ley lines converge.
Llantwit Major, is in the Vale of Glamorgan, just outside Cardiff. It is easy to reach as follows:
- 20 minute drive from J35 of the M4
- 30 mins from Cardiff Central Train Station
- 5 mile drive from Cardiff Airport

Local parking is plentiful and free of charge. We are a gentle, 15 min walk away form the beach.

Accommodation is plentiful, in and around the town. The recently refurbished, West House Country Hotel is literally just a few minutes walk away. It offers a peaceful environment and quality, dog friendly rooms should you require one.
Llantwit Major is a popular destination for dog owners; gateway to the Heritage Coastal Path it offers roman roads walks, well-marked trails and local beaches. Dog access is granted on parts of Llantwit beach, throughout the year. Ogmore beach, an easy 20 minute drive away, is spectacular for dog owners and in addition, provides the opportunity for horse riding on the beach and sand dunes.
